Botswana 4 Days / 3 Nights

4 Days / 3 Nights – Chobe + Okavango Delta Combo (VERY STRONG SELLER)

Highlights

Overview

This 4 Days / 3 Nights safari combines two of Botswana’s most iconic ecosystems: the wildlife-rich riverfront plains of Chobe National Park and the breathtaking wetland paradise of the Okavango Delta.

It is designed for travelers who want a short but diverse safari experience that blends big game viewing, river safaris, and the unique water-based ecosystem of the Delta. This combination delivers exceptional wildlife density, scenic contrasts, and high photographic value in a compact itinerary.

Highlights

This itinerary combines two contrasting safari environments in one seamless journey. The Chobe section offers high-density big game viewing, especially elephants in massive herds along the riverfront of Chobe National Park.

The Okavango Delta section provides a completely different experience with water-based safaris, mokoro rides, and walking safaris in pristine wilderness within the Okavango Delta.

The contrast between dry savannah and lush wetlands makes this one of the most visually and experientially diverse short safaris in Africa.

Day by Day Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival in Kasane – Chobe National Park Experience

Upon arrival at Kasane Airport or border entry, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge located near the Chobe River, on the edge of Chobe National Park.

After check-in and a short rest, the afternoon is dedicated to your first safari experience. You will enjoy a boat cruise along the Chobe River, one of the most iconic wildlife viewing experiences in Africa. This is where large elephant herds gather along the riverbanks, often swimming across channels, while hippos, crocodiles, and buffalo dominate the waterways. The sunset over the river creates a dramatic safari atmosphere.

Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge in the Chobe area.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Okavango Delta

The day begins with an early morning game drive inside Chobe National Park. This is the best time for predator activity and active wildlife movement. Expect sightings of elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and abundant antelope species across open plains and woodland areas.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and check-out. You will then transfer to Kasane Airport for your scheduled flight to the Okavango Delta (typically via light aircraft, depending on lodge location and availability).

Upon arrival in the Delta, you will be transferred to your remote safari camp located deep within the waterways. In the afternoon, enjoy a mokoro canoe excursion or a short guided nature activity depending on water levels. This is a peaceful introduction to the Delta’s unique ecosystem.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Delta camp.

Day 3: Full Day Okavango Delta Safari Experience

The entire day is dedicated to exploring the Okavango Delta, one of the most unique inland deltas in the world. Activities typically include guided walking safaris with experienced trackers and mokoro excursions through narrow channels surrounded by reeds and water lilies.

Wildlife sightings may include elephants, hippos, buffalo, lechwe antelope, crocodiles, and an extraordinary variety of birdlife. The Delta is also home to predators such as lions and leopards, depending on the concession area.

The rhythm of the day is slow and immersive, focusing on close-to-nature experiences rather than fast-paced game driving. Afternoon activities continue with sunset water excursions before returning to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning Activity – Departure

The final morning begins with an early breakfast followed by a short game activity depending on time and lodge schedule. This may include a final mokoro ride or guided walk.
