8 Days 7 Nights Masai Mara-Lake Nakuru-Samburu-Aberdare-Amboseli Safaris

Day 1 : Nairobi – Drive To Masai Mara Game Reserve

Breakfast will be served at the lodge followed by check out. Depart by road to the bottom of the Great Rift Valley and the iconic savannah wilderness alive with Masai people and wildlife living together to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Arrive at the camp in time for lunch the followed by some leisure hours for a siesta/ swim. Later depart for an afternoon Game drive. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is characterized with vast acacia-dotted plains cut by ox-bow lakes, spectacular escarpments where move ‘Out of Africa’ was acted.

The animals of the Masai Mara are the star of the show, providing drama and intrigue against a backdrop of spectacular scenery. You might notice a Masai Moran standing on one foot herding hundreds of cow or shepherding goats and sheep holding a single stick or a spear, that’s their way of living.

Day 2 : Explore The Masai Mara Game Reserve

This full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve will be spared for the search of the big cats of the Masai Mara and the spectacular view of the famous migration.

During game viewing remember to keep a sharp lookout, you may witness a dramatic hunt; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree or a herd of elephants protecting their young from predators.

The Mara is one of the richest wildlife spectacular scenery for the annual migration, the Masai Mara wildebeest migration is no considered to be one of the wonders of the world, especially as they cross the Mara River.

The reserve is also regarded as the most spectacular wildlife viewing area in Kenya with over 95 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara and patience is rewarded with unique sightings, such as a pride of lion stalking prey. All meals will be served at the camp.

Day 3 : Masai Mara Game – Drive To Lake Nakuru National Park

Breakfast will be served at your lodge then board the safari vehicle and drive overland to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake famous for its flamingo population estimated to be more than a million hence it is referred to as the ‘Birds Paradise’ by bird watchers and the rhino population.

Arrive in time for lunch then followed by a siesta. Depart at around 16:00hrs for an afternoon game viewing and return back to the camp before sunset. In addition to the flamingoes, the lake draws more than 450 species of birds.

There are no elephants in the park but the other big five can be spotted including tree climbing lions. Large animals which strive in the dry land surrounding the lake such as Rothschild giraffe, Cape buffaloes, Waterbucks, Gazelles, Leopard and primates etc can be spotted as well at the park.

Day 4 : Lake Nakuru – Drive To Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast depart by road game drive enroute to Samburu National reserve, Brief stopover at the Thomson Falls, hot lunch at the famous Taut Tree Hotel.

Drive to Samburu arriving early afternoon , Check in into the park proceed with game viewing till dusk, dinner and overnight at your lodge

Day 5 : Explore Samburu Game Reserve

Today we explore Samburu Game Reserve on morning and afternoon game-drives. Other than wildlife there are more that Samburu offers. Samburu National Reserve is a paradise for bird lovers, with over 350 species of birds already recorded.

You can enjoy a colorful assortment of birds such as vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and many more. In between game drives you can visit the local Samburu villages where you get a chance to interact with the colorful Samburu people in their traditional setting and experience their culture.

This is a good opportunity to purchase traditional Samburu souvenirs, art and collections.

Day 6 : Samburu – Drive To Aberdare National Park/ Mount Kenya National Park

After breakfast drive southwards to the lush foothills of snow capped Mount Kenya – Africa’s second highest mountain, arriving at the Lodge in time for lunch, you will relax in the balconies and lounges which provides superb vantage point (Viewing Bunker) for game viewing at the water hole.

Nestled in the foothills between Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for its high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole. Here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing.

Day 7 : Lake Nakuru – Drive To Amboseli National Park

After breakfast morning game viewing drive later depart by road and return to Nairobi and proceed overland through Kamba land dotted with circular houses and few shopping centers as well as Masai land to Amboseli National Park situated at the foot of the highest mountain in Africa.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest free standing mountain in the world. Lunch served enroute to Amboseli arriving early afternoon. Depart for an afternoon game viewing and return back to the camp before sunset.

The park has large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions and a variety of other animals and birds all of which are attracted to this park due to its permanent supply of water from Mt. Kilimanjaro’s melting snow.

The elephant population in Amboseli is one of the few that has been able to live undisturbed and the elephant families have been studied by world renowned researcher Cynthia Moss.

Day 8 : Explore Amboseli National Park – Nairobi

This morning we rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for a game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons.

A visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast at an extra cost. Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive as we exit the park and drive back to our Nairobi Hotel. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen.

Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world.
